BC Crane Safety wrapped up the Canada / European Union Crane Operator Credential MRA Project with the signature of a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between the BC Association for Crane Safety (BC Crane Safety) and the European Crane Operator License Foundation (ECOL). As ECOL works to expand the number of EU nations adopting its crane operator licensing standards, they too will become participants in the MRA. BC Crane Safety also continues to pursue individual MRAs with individual EU nations, such as Ireland and the UK.

Inherent in BC Crane Safety’s crane operator certification model is the potential for all Canadian operators and employers to benefit from the MRAs, which result in enhanced labour mobility for Canada’s crane operators and a more competitive environment for Canadian firms bidding on EU projects.
